MANDAN - Minot North's offense broke open the match in the second half, netting three goals and the Sentinels earned a key 4-2 WDA road win over Mandan-St. Mary's on Sept. 29 at Starion Sports Complex.

Mandan-SM took a 1-0 lead on Liam Kramer's boot at the four-minute mark before Minot North's Jayden Marshall evened the score at the 23rd minute. North's Logan Ovitt scored the first of his two goals early in the second half to give his team the lead. Anthony Winter Jr. extended it later in the half before the Braves cut the deficit to one on Liam Gardner's tally. However, Ovitt provided an insurance goal in the final minute.

North improved to 6-6-2 overall and 5-6-2 in WDA play and still very much in contention for a state tournament berth. The loss snapped M-SM's (7-3-2 overall/7-3-2 WDA) three-match win streak, but the Braves remain in third place and in good position to secure a state tournament berth.

Minot North will face Williston (2-7 WDA, 2-7 overall) on October 6, while Mandan-St. Mary's is set to play against Williston on October 1.
