BISMARCK - Century leading scorer Cale McEvers factored in on all three goals and the Patriots clinched a state tournament berth with their 3-1 win over visiting Minot North on Sept. 24 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Century improved to 8-1-3 in the Western Dakota Association and overall and still are in the chase for the WDA regular season title. Minot North, meanwhile, fell to 4-6-2 in the conference and 5-6-2 overall.

Jace Eastgate opened the scoring with a goal 20 minutes into the contest. McEvers then netted the first of his two in the opening minutes of the second half. North cut the deficit in half when Jayden Marshall booted a ball in the goal. But the Pats would restore its two-goal advantage. The win meant three points in the standings for Century working its way to clinching a state tournament berth. North, meanwhile, will need to pile up wins in the final weeks and get some help in order to secure a state tournament berth.

Century will face Dickinson on September 29, while Minot North looks to rebound against Mandan-St. Mary's on the same date.
