JAMESTOWN - Mandan-St. Mary's swept the regular season series with Jamestown, but more importantly, secured three more conference points. The Braves defeated Jamestown, 2-1, on Sept. 24 at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium. M-SM has 23 points and firmly in third position in the standings with a 7-2-2 mark.

Mandan-St. Mary's took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a tally by Zayden Koppy. The squad played good defense and then added a critical insurance marker late on Zach Weiler's goal. Jamestown's Grady Eckart gave the home crowd a boost with a goal a couple minutes later. However, Jamestown just didn't have enough time to build off the momentum the goal had generated. Looking ahead, Mandan-St. Mary's will face Minot North on September 29. The Sentinels remain in contention for a state tournament berth. Jamestown, meanwhile, will have to win out and get some help for a shot at the postseason. The Blue Jays takes on Legacy next week.
