MINOT - Minot North moved into a three-way tie for third in the WDA standings following its decisive 8-1 victory over Jamestown on September 19, improving their record to 3-2 in the Western Dakota Association and 10-5 overall. Jamestown remains winless with a 0-6 conference record and 0-14 overall.
Rain forced the match to be delayed several hours before it could be resume. Minot North dominated the singles matches, sweeping all six in straight sets. Notable performances included sophomore Colton Griffith winning at No. 1 singles against a tough foe in Jamestown sophomore Aden Oettle. Lucas Griffith did not drop a game in the No 2 singles match. Jamestown's highlight came in the No. 3 doubles match. Rajen Bansal and Bryce Roepke played sharp in a straight-sets win.
Looking ahead, Minot North will face Century, who holds a 3-2 WDA and 9-5 overall record, on September 22. Jamestown will aim for their first win against Bismarck, currently 1-4 in the WDA and 4-10 overall, on the same day.
